Service & Solutions Technician

Summary:
You will be responsible for general maintenance and repair duties including maintenance for both Residential and Commercial properties, identifying the need for repairs, responding to clients’ maintenance requests, and daily/weekly/monthly property maintenance inspections.

To be an effective service technician, you will be skilled and hard-working, with outstanding problem-solving abilities. Skillful hands, good physical stamina, and strong trade repair knowledge are important parts of the successful candidates’ talents. Quality control and safety are key to this position. This is a full time, non-exempt position.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Service Technician:

  • Perform basic tasks including painting and patching and managing maintenance repairs.

  • Perform basic repairs on buildings, equipment, or appliances.

  • Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.

  • Regularly check properties under management to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure or damage.

  • Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Repair minor plumbing, electrical and safety systems.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks at properties we maintain.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.

  • Effectively communicate using the following tools: telephone, written logs, email, computer, smartphone devices, digital camera.

  • Blueprint reading.

  • Physically lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening.

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role.

  • Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.

  • Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.

  • Extremely organized with good communication skills.

  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
